August 27th, 2022 Cruise to Panna Maria. Some of the members of the STTC cruised to Shorty's Place north of Hobson, for lunch and then on to Panna Maria to tour and view the 1st Polish Church built in the USA back in the 1800's. The consensus of those on the cruise was that the food at Shorty's was great and so was the service. After lunch we cruised the 10 minute drive to Panna Maria where we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. We were able to enter the air-conditioned Church, and take pix of the interior which is terrific! Then we went over to the gift shop and enjoyed seeing it. There we met a very knowledgeable man who told us a lot about the establishment of the settlement and history of it. He took us to the museum then and showed us around it, explaining even more regarding the settling of Panna Maria. After that, as it was getting quite hot, we decided to get back on the road and head home. The rain we had been having for much of the week off and on did hold off and as you will see in the pix that will be posted in our upcoming newsletter, it was a beautiful day. Those who made the cruise stated that it was a fabulous experience and those who missed this cruise lost an excellent opportunity to learn more about the heritage of the peoples of Texas. Here is a tiny bit of what you missed! See more in our next newsletter, and enjoy the Panna Maria Power Show I sent to members.

May 21 (CHANGE IN SCHEDULE-THIRD Saturday!) CRUISE TO HEMI HIDEOUT, Brookshire! 1172 Wilpitz Rd, Brookshire, 77423. 281-347-4364. That was the date they can take us. Departure time and location to be determined. However, it appears we will need to meet at 8am and be on the road because we have to be there by 10:30am for the Tour, starting at 11:30am. It is about a 2 1/2 hour, 160 mile drive. They WILL have a food truck - under cover - available that they have used in the past and they have a very good selection of very good food I am told. Donation for the tour is $10each, which they donate to their one of their 7 charities. No children under 12 allowed. Presently, we have 5 Texas Tbird Clubs that have expressed an interest in joining us. The 2 Houston Tbird Clubs will be joining us. The Austin ATO Club and the North Texas Tbird Club will also join us. See the email that has just been sent to all STTC members. If you have NOT signed up for this cruise already and want to, notify me to add you to the list. Presently, we have 15 STTC families who have signed up for the Cruise. More information to come as needed. Action has been taken by the Activities committee to change the LBJ Ranch cruise to another date.
HEMI HIDEOUT!

There are now TWO events scheduled for this date. Our scheduled STTC Cruise to the Hemi Hideaway in Brookshire and the Live Oak Armed Forces Day Parade. I suggest this. We have STTC members who have decided NOT to make the Cruise with us to the Hemi Hideaway in Brookshire, for various reasons. They may want to take advantage of an alternative local event instead. That way the STTC can participate in two different events the same day and be represented at both. Just a heads up, if you get interested in the parade, you need to fill out the parade form so they know length of total cars and where they can place you in line. (Brian Carron). Here is the information regarding the Live Oak Armed Forces Day Parade and the form to print out, fill out and submit to them. Those who decide NOT to attend their parade are also asked to let them know on their form.

Our April 16th Cruise to Floresville S&S event! On this Easter Weekend, we had an enjoyable cruise (from accounts I have received) to Floresville, at the invitation of Alan Carvajal, a fairly new member of STTC. The weather was warm, but overcast, which helped keep the heat down, I am told. After a short trip there, they parked their Tbirds to show them off, enjoyed some very good free Hamburgers and Hot Dogs, took in the sights and enjoyed seeing other classic cars from other Clubs that were also present. Alan informs me that he was very pleased with the turnout from our Club, considering the holiday weekend. Here are a few pix of the event to enjoy, thanks to members who attended this event.
